On Saturday the BC Lions take their show from Saskatchewan, where they defeated the Roughriders handily 33-12 last week in the Semi-Final of the CFL’s Western Division, to Calgary, where they will face off against the Stampeders.
The Stamps finished the regular season with the best record in the CFL, and beat the Lions in the last game of the regular season pretty convincingly.

The one bright spot for the Lions in that game was rookie Running Back Stefan Logan. The smallest man on the field could be the biggest key to the Lions chances of upsetting the Stampeders.
In the two games he has played against Calgary this season, the 27 year old Miami native, who used to work in a morgue to help pay the bills, ran for 233 yards on 27 carries.
Stamps Safety Wes Lysack agrees that stopping Logan will be key on Saturday. “We’re well aware of his talents and what he can bring…(he) can move really well and catch the ball well and create opportunities for himself outside the system….when things break down he can start running around like a madman and create his own opportunities.”
Logan hopes to carry his success forward from last week, where he carried the ball 11 times against the Riders and scorched them for 153 yards. In the regular season, despite missing six games he finished fourth in rushing with 122 carries for 889 yards, an average of 7.3 yards per carry, higher than any other back with more than 10 carries.
Logan was a standout in college at the University of South Dakota. From there he attended NFL training camps with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins, and things didn’t really work out. Out of football, and in need of a job, he started working with his father at the University of Miami preparing corpses for research in the medical department.
He came to the Lions as a free agent in May. The Lions already had an established number 1 back in Joe Smith, who led the league in rushing the previous season, but six games into this season, Logan had managed to take the job away from him, and Smith was eventually dealt to the Winnipeg Bluebombers for Charles Roberts.
The game will be held this Saturday at 1:30pm (PST).
