BC Place:

BC Place’s iconic white dome (as pictured above) is located in the heart of downtown
Vancouver, in close proximity to General Motors Place and the Olympic
Village. This is the location of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. This will also be the site of the nightly Victory Ceremonies.
BC Place Stadium seats approximately 55,000 spectators and features the largest air-supported stadium roof in North America.

Richmond Olympic Oval:

The newly built facility at the Richmond Oval (pictured above) will host Olympic Speed Skating events. The venue has capacity for 7,600 people. The O-Zone is located nearby and features entertainment and cultural activities. Click here for a schedule of O-Zone events.

Mountain Venues- Whistler and Cypress:

Whistler will host an array of events including alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, bobsleigh and luge. One of British Columbia's most famous attractions, Whistler/Blackcomb is approximately a 2 hour drive from Vancouver. Cypress Mountain, located in West Vancouver, will host the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard events.

The University of British Columbia's Thunderbird Arena will host Ice Hockey events during the Games. Canada's national hockey program was born at Thunderbird Arena when in 1963 when a national hockey team was formed for the Innsbruck 1964 Olympic Winter Games in Austria.
