The Celebration of Light fireworks show starts at 10 pm, rain or shine. If you're wondering where to bring your blanket – and radio if you want to tune in and hear the music choreographed to the display - take a look at our top 5 places to check out the event:

English Bay: You'll get the best view of the fireworks, and be able to hear the music mostly clearly from English Bay. The one drawback is that it's also the most crowded; hundreds of thousands of people gather at English Bay, so get there early if you want to secure a spot.
Kitsilano Beach: Kits Beach is also a favourite spot to view the Celebration of Light. It's not as crowded as English Bay, but you'll still be amongst numerous other locals and travelers waiting to see the fireworks display. If you come by early, you can play basketball, volleyball or tennis at one of the built-in courts.
Vanier Park: Also located in Kitsilano, Vanier Park is home to the Vancouver Museum, the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and the Maritime Museum, and host to Bard on the Beach every year. You can sit on the shore for a great view of the festivities, or you can stand on the nearby Burrard Bridge.
Jericho Beach: Close to the University of British Columbia lies this beautiful beach, which is less busy than other Vancouver fireworks viewing spots. There are also more families who congregate at Jericho Beach before the event starts for barbecues.
Burnaby Mountain: On a clear night, you can see the Celebration of Light explode right over the city. There is a short delay between the explosion and you actually hearing the fireworks. Burnaby Mountain is ideal for SFU students or those who don't want to brave the crowds downtown.
