Monday, July 26, 2010 – Musical Nooners at the CBC Plaza

Bring your lunch and enjoy free live concerts at CBC until August 25. They're guaranteed to brighten up a boring Monday or make your bologna sandwich a little more bearable! Tuesday, July 27, 2010 – Drake

Canadian recording artist and former teen soap star of Degrassi: The Next Generation Drake brings his unique brand of hip hop to the stage at The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts (777 Homer St). Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later, has already gone platinum here in Canada and is working its way up the charts in the US as well. You can still get tickets here.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010 – In Dialogue with Carr, Douglas Coupland, Evan Lee, Liz Magor, Marianne Nicolson

The Vancouver Art Gallery presents the In Dialogue exhibition, which strategically pairs the work of Emily Carr with a variety of contemporary artists. Emily Carr is one of BC’s most beloved artists, due mostly to her modernized representation of the natural world, so come and see how others have paid homage to her.

Thursday, July 29, 2010 – BC Museum of Mining Underground Tour

Friday, July 30, 2010 – Three Instruments, Four Hands

Michael Jarvis & Christopher Bagan perform in a rare duo recital of Baroque keyboard music for two harpsichords, and Classical music for fortepiano four-hands. The show begins at 8 pm, but there is a pre-concert introduction at 7:15 pm (UBC School of Music, 6361 Memorial Rd). Get tickets and concert info.

Saturday, July 31, 2010 – Two Gentlemen of Verona

See the Adam's Apple Theatre put on William Shakespeare’s Two Gentlemen of Verona for their premiere performance. The show takes place at Arts Umbrella Theatre on Granville Island (1286 Cartwright St). Sunday, August 1, 2010 – Vancouver Pride

It’s time again for the sensational Vancouver Pride weekend, which features the world-class Pride Parade that attracts thousands of locals and visitors. While it began as a small protest march through Davie Village, there are now dozens of things to see and do – whether you’re LGBT or not! This year’s Pride Parade will start at 12 pm at Robson and Thurlow, head West down the hill to Denman street, follow Denman to Pacific and Beach Avenue and finish at the Sunset Beach Festival Site.
