Monday, August 9, 2010 – Summer Cinema in the Parks
The Commercial Drive Business Society presents Summer Cinema in the Parks, three free movies at various Vancouver locations. Tonight the family can enjoy one of the best-loved kids’ movies of the 80’s – The Neverending Story - at McSpadden Park. On August 16, bring a blanket to Victoria Park for Wall-E, and go Back to the Future on August 25 at McSpadden Park. All movies start at 9 pm and are free, with concession snacks available. All proceeds from concession sales and perishable food donations will be given to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Tuesday, August 10, 2010 – Canada vs. China Men’s Basketball
Canada will take on China in men’s basketball action tonight at Rogers Arena (800 Griffiths Way). Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams have been playing international games to prepare for the FIBA World Championships. After their game against China, the men will take on France on August 12th and 13th in Toronto. Buy tickets here.
Wednesday August 11, 2010 – Chromeo
Electrofunk duo Chromeo is bringing their unique mix of disco, funk and smooth '70s to the Commodore Ballroom (868 Granville Street) at 8 pm. Dave-1 and P-Thugg make music that gets people dancing at their shows, using vocals, keyboard and guitar, and nothing is sampled. Find great tickets here.
Thursday, August 12, 2010 – Cirque du Soleil KOOZA

Saturday, August 14, 2010 – Anime Evolution 2010
