Friday, August 27, 2010 – Vampire Weekend
New York quartet Vampire Weekend is at the Malkin Bowl at Stanley Park (610 Pipeline Road) tonight at 7:00 pm. The band adds African sounds, woodwind instruments, reggae rhythms and hand drums, all while staying true to their own pop persona. Check them out – get tickets here.
Saturday, August 28, 2010 – Kraft Peanut Butter Bears Spread the Feeling
Help support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society as the Kraft Peanut Butter Bears give out free hugs at the Vancouver Aquarium. The “Smoothie” and “Crunchy” bears will be giving out hugs in an effort to relieve hunger: for each hug given, Kraft Peanut Butter will donate a 500 gram jar of peanut butter to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society, which helps up to 25,000 individuals each week, 40% of those being children. Their goal is to round up 10,000 jars of peanut butter, so help out by going to the Aquarium on Saturday, or by sending a virtual hug online at Spread the Feeling.
Sunday, August 29, 2010 – Blue Rodeo
Are they a country band or not? See if you can figure it out once and for all at the Blue Rodeo concert tonight at the Malkin Bowl at Stanley Park ((610 Pipeline Road) at 7 pm. You can still buy great seats at a great price.
